Facebook is a fantastic tool for keeping in touch, especially with family and friends . However you can often find yourself friends with a bunch of people you hardly know, or worse, you could be receiving unwanted attention and/or comments from a supposed ‘friend’.
To help manage these situations, Facebook offers the ability to block people from your page. There are a few different ways to do this.
Step 1 Click on the privacy shortcut padlock at the top of your homepage.
Step 2 From the drop-down menu choose ‘How do I stop someone from bothering me?’, then type the persons name or email address into the box and click Block.
Step 3 You’re done. This person will now no longer
Step 1 Go to your Facebook menu, scroll down and click on ‘Settings’
Step 2 Select ‘Blocking’
Step 3 Type the persons name in the box provided and hit ‘Block’
Their Facebook Page
Step 1 Go to the Facebook page of the person you’d like to block
Step 2 Click on the icon or ‘more’ menu next to message, then select ‘Block’ from the drop-down menu
Step 3 You then get a set of options, one of which is to block the user.
Once you’ve blocked someone from you page it doesn’t mean you can avoid them entirely, especially if you have mutual friends, it simply means that they can no longer access your profile/timeline from within Facebook. The person you’ve blocked isn’t notified so they will not be aware that you’ve blocked them until they figure it out.
