Project for the month: Make a home movie on your Mac or PC |
|
![]() Sometimes we need a little push to get started - so this month we challenge you to figure out how to make a movie on your Mac or PC to show off to your friends and family. Why not? Chances are that you will either have a digital video camera at home somewhere, an old tape which you can import onto your computer or even a mobile phone which has the ability to record video of some quality. Why not put it to the test. If you don't have any footage, well, there's never been a better opportunity to go to a karaoke bar and capture some awful singing then, has there? On a MacOne of the best things about having a Mac is just how easy it is to create really cool home projects straight out of the box. iMovie is part of iLife09 which ships with new Macs and it will make it really easy for you to put something together. To learn more about iMovie and how to use it to create a fantastic home video of your own, visit http://www.apple.com/ilife/imovie/#overlay-overview or look online for more video tutorials. On a PCWindows Vista (Home Premium and Ultimate) and Windows XP both have a program called Windows Movie Maker. For Windows XP instructions visit http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/getstarted/default.mspx and for Windows Vista instructions visit http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/ec3fff68-e53c-4168-ae74-8557325e57e21033.mspx We'd love to hear how you went with your project especially how easy or difficult you found it, just email us at askgizmo@gizmo.com.au |
