T’is the season for Operating System upgrades

speech bubbles

Should I upgrade to Snow Leopard?

Absolutely! With the release of Snow Leopard on the 28th of August, many Mac users are considering upgrading their Intel based Macs (Snow Leopard won’t work on non-Intel based Macs). Gizmotechs have already performed a number of upgrades for keen customers and why not? Upgrades are always recommended, and for a small software upgrade investment of only $39 it’s kinda silly not to. One note of caution though, if you use specialised applications on your computer make sure that they support OS 10.6 before you do the upgrade.

If you're keen on an upgrade but you’re not sure if your Mac will support it, give us a call and we’ll help you out. Snow Leopard has been fine tuned with next gen tech and you can see all of the neat new features you can expect from the upgrade here.

Windows 7 due for release on October 22nd

Windows 7 is slated to be released on the 22nd of October which is fantastic. Windows 7 is a real improvement on Vista and XP. Our favourite features are the way you can easily resize windows to fill half the screen, the improved dock and the cool way you can set a collection of background images to cycle through as your wallpaper. But if you want, check out all of the cool new features of Windows 7 here or you can wait for our next issue of the gizmo guide which will contain all you need to know about Windows 7.
