
So what exactly is IPTV? |

If you have looked at purchasing a new TV of late, you will notice how many of them are labelled as being ‘Internet ready’. This simply means the TV will allow you to connect to the Internet so you can stream movies, watch YouTube, talk on Skype, share photos and more. |

But IPTV (which stands for Internet Protocol Television), is actually a little different. Essentially, instead of viewing TV programs via your TVs traditional antenna (satellite or cable), your programs are delivered via your Internet connection and resembled into TV content by a variety of different devices, such ABC iView or Channel 9 Fix Play with your computer. If you are wanting to move away from the computer, there are other devices such as Telstra’s T-Box with Bigpond Movies, non subscription Foxtel on the X-Box, or a Fetch TV set top box just to name a few. A number of Australian ISPs offer IPTV as part of their service bundle, so if you want to move further into IPTV, give them a call. There are 3 types of IPTV services:
