What's a cache? |
|
|
To make browsing the internet faster, your computer transparently stores data based on your searches (for example the web pages you view regularly), so that when you want to view the same page in the future, you computer can get that very same page to you much faster, simply because it doesn't have to trawl through millions of pages. |

The only problem with a cache is that if a web page you view regularly has made a major update, you may not be able to see these changes automatically. Clearing your computer of any caches on a regular basis is a good thing, and it's easy – here's how: Internet Explorer 8Once your browser is open, click Tools > Internet Options
In the General tab, click Delete underneath the Browsing history heading
Select Temporary Internet files, then click Delete
If you want the browser to automatically clear the cache whenever you close it, click the Advanced tab and tick the box next to Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed (in the Security section). Click OK. This will clear out everything except cookies each time you close the browser.
